Ray Tarkington founded the Tarkington Company in 1965. Although he started small, specializing in commercial real estate and property management, Tarkington quickly won clients over with his warmth, candor, and knowledge of the Nashville real estate market.
In 1999, Chris Harwell joined the team and quickly became an advocate for the company’s growth and development. And in 2012, as the company expanded its services, it also expanded its name to Tarkington & Harwell Company (now, Tarkington & Harwell Realtors ®).
Over the years, we’ve had the opportunity to serve big-name clients in property acquisition, like Harpeth Valley Utility District, CSX Railroad, the Battery Park subdivision in Green Hills, and the Nissan plant in Smyrna.
Tarkington founded this company with the strong conviction to put people over profits. It’s what sets us apart from other mainstream agencies and it’s a legacy we’re proud to continue. We’ve had the opportunity to serve the Nashville community for over 50 years, and we looking forward to 50 more.
